About the Job

We are looking for an experienced Product Control Oversight professional to join a regional finance function supporting APAC Markets Treasury operations.

This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in financial markets products, product control, process oversight, controls, data analysis, and process improvement. You will help ensure the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of key Product Control deliverables while driving enhancements, resolving control gaps, and supporting regional projects.

You will work closely with onshore and offshore teams, senior stakeholders, business partners, and finance teams to strengthen the control environment and improve how critical processes are delivered.

Key Responsibilities

Product Control Oversight and Review

  • Produce meaningful oversight review packs with insights to support Product Control management decision-making.
  • Monitor key Product Control deliverables to ensure they are completed on time and within expected ranges.
  • Perform in-depth process reviews focused on quality, control, efficiency, and process design.
  • Identify errors, control gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities across processes.
  • Track issues identified from oversight reviews and ensure remediation actions are followed through.

Process Improvement and Project Delivery

  • Drive process enhancements, remediation actions, and project implementation.
  • Support hands-on activities such as analysis, testing, solution design, risk identification, and process changes.
  • Help improve the control environment, quality of deliverables, and efficiency of Product Control processes.
  • Support the resolution of day-to-day process or reporting issues when required.
  • Assist in ad hoc analysis and business-critical initiatives as needed.

Stakeholder Management and Collaboration

  • Build strong partnerships with onshore and offshore Product Control teams.
  • Collaborate with business teams, senior management, finance teams, change management, operations, market risk, and other support functions.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across different levels of seniority.
  • Demonstrate strong ownership, responsiveness, accountability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Controls and Risk Management

  • Maintain a strong control mindset across all processes and deliverables.
  • Continuously assess potential operational risks and identify ways to reduce them.
  • Challenge existing processes to ensure they remain fit-for-purpose.
  • Escalate issues in a timely manner, with clear explanations and proposed solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong experience in Product Control, Finance, Treasury, Markets, Risk, or related control functions.
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel and VBA.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify key business drivers, and recommend practical process improvements.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets products such as debt securities, money market instruments, FX swaps, interest rate swaps, and cross-currency swaps.
  • Understanding of valuation techniques, risk sensitivities, and P&L analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • High level of discipline, attention to detail, and ownership in delivering high-quality recurring work.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, CAIA, or equivalent.
  • Experience or understanding of Treasury business, including transfer pricing or IRRBB.
  • Knowledge of hedge accounting.
  • Experience managing projects or process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with accounting controls for financial instruments.
  • Knowledge of fair value adjustments.
